Contact the FileLocator team

The fastest — and only — way to reach us is email: hello@filelocator.net. One inbox, read by the same small team that writes and tests everything on this site. You can read more about who we are on the about page.

What to write in about

  • Corrections. A price changed, a feature shipped, a benchmark looks off — tell us the page and what's wrong, and we'll fix it and update the page's "last updated" line.
  • Tool suggestions. Found a search tool we haven't covered? Send the name and what makes it different. The bar: we have to be able to download or buy it ourselves.
  • Review requests. Developers are welcome to ask for coverage, but there's no queue-jumping and no preview of scores before publication.
  • Partnerships. Read our affiliate disclosure first — it explains the only kind of monetization we do. We don't sell sponsored posts, paid placements or score upgrades, so pitches for those will get a polite no.

What to expect

We aim to reply within a few business days. Two honest caveats:

  • We can't provide tech support for third-party tools. If Everything, Listary or any other program is misbehaving on your machine, its developer's official site is the right channel — and our reviews link each one. Our FAQ also answers the most common file-search questions.
  • Short, specific emails get the fastest answers. A page URL plus one or two sentences beats a long thread every time.

Why there's no contact form

filelocator.net is a static site. There's no server-side code to process a form, and that's deliberate: nothing you type is ever stored on our servers, because we don't have any storage to put it in. The details are in our privacy policy, but the summary is simple — email us and the conversation lives in email, nowhere else.
